Welcome
to the Ronald & Mary Ann Lachman Foundation
Foundation History
In 1977 Ron and Joe
Lachman founded Lachman Associates, a computer consulting firm
in the Chicago area. They were joined in 1979 by Mary Ann Rhodes
Lachman.
The Lachman Associates
Foundation was formed in 1987 with the idea of giving something
back to a world that has been very good to us. In 1989, when Lachman
Associates was sold to Eastman Kodak, the Foundation became an
independent private charity funded largely from proceeds of the
sale. After the marriage of Joe to Helene Lachman the Foundation
was split into two funds, the Joseph and Helene Lachman Foundation
and the Ronald and Mary Ann Lachman Foundation. History is the
past, but the Lachman story continues to build and as we succeed,
we add to our Foundation. Ronald Lachman and his partner, Ezra
Goldman, are unique investors in the communications technology
industry. Their single focus is to help talented entrepreneurs
build great companies and change the world. The Ronald and Mary
Ann Lachman Foundation has a similar goal. While Lachman Goldman
Ventures seeks to change the world through encouraging fledgling
businesses, our Foundation tries to change the world by providing
people and organizations in the front line of helping others with
funds to continue their work.
